Halloween 2009

I know I am posting a little out of order tonight, but GIVE ME A BREAK! It is late and I have been at work for 12 hours! Anyway, B was Scooby Doo and Ev was a wacky wizard. We went to Halloween Hoopla at the Macomb Rec center again this year and the kids had a blast! The pic in the middle is from Evan and his school party. We had the kids wrap each other in toilet paper like mummies! It was a BLAST!

EVAN is now 5 YEARS OLD!

Well, better late than never. Evan is now 5 yrs old!!!!!!!! He had a great birthday! Thank you to everyone for helping make it a special day for him!
The pic is of him on the phone getting "another" B'day call from his godfather Jake and cuz Drew. He loved all the calls and felt like a gin shooter....OBVIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh oh....

Ok, so this morning started out with me finding a packet of T.S. Mullling Spice jammed in my computer printer. Of course it read paper jam (I do not think they have a built in error message for mulling spice) and I was unable to print the documents I needed to. Anyway, I automatically started in on the kids. Evan told me it wasn't him and BB told me too (the best way he can). So, we continued with our morning routine and got ready for school. I sent a text out to my sis and hubby inquiring about the situation and to my suprise JASON sent me a text back admitting it was him. Of course he tried to make me part of the problem saying I have to much stuff on the desk and next to the printer, etc. Well, my reply to that was basically if you were jumping into a pool or backing out the car you would LOOK first, right? To my suprise he replied "I know."

So, if anyone has the tools (you need a special screw driver or something) to get into my printer so I can get the mulling spice out I would really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SCHOOL....

Well, Ev started school on Tues. and it is going rather well. His teacher is Mrs. Hagel. I am so proud of him. He is confident, strong, and eager. What more could a mommy ask for?

"Just turn cartoons on..."

Ok, I am sure all my mommies out there can relate, but one of my biggest complaints is NOT getting a shower on a regular basis. So.....when I complain to my lovely husband his response is "Well, just turn on some cartoons and run through the shower real quick. They will be fine!"

So......... one day I went to the gym and I had to go somewhere after. The boys were not taking a nap that day (to much of a battle) so I decided to listen to my husband... the boys had just had lunch, had a bath, and were feshly clothed for the day. I turned on the cartoons, went over the rules with Evan, and made a mad dash for the worlds fastest shower. I had turned the water on, gotten in, washed my face and just started getting my hair wet when Evan came into the bathroom and told me that Brayden was IN the tub and playing in the "bubbles." It took me a split second to realize that the "bubbles" Brayden was playing in (fully dressed mind you) was the foam from the Mr. Clean I had dumped into the Jacuzzi tub to clean it out after the kids bath. I had turned the jets on to circulate the cleaner (which makes it "bubble"/foam up and then drained it. I figured I could finish rinsing it out when I got out of the shower. Trying to save time and all and multitask. Right? I could shower while the tub drained and rinse when I got out instead of wait the whole time for it to drain, then rinse it out, and then shower..... WRONG!!!!

I ran out of the shower dripping wet with no clothes on COLD as all get out, rescued Brayden fron the Mr. Clean "bubbles", cleaned him off, changed him, shut and locked the bathroom door (along with any other doors I could lock) and returned to finish washing my hair.

Moral of the story........MEN have no idea:)

Two of my babies...

Sundays are mommy and Evan days (kinda). We try to sneak away long enough to go feed Rio some carrots and maybe a few apples. Then we clean him up, saddle up and hit the trails. Rio is 24 yrs old now and his back has just started to show some signs of sagging:( Poor baby! So we got Evan a saddle just his size so that he can ride him all by himself. He does GREAT! He looks so small up there all by himself. My baby is getting so big:)

Too cute...

Well, this was one of the last hoorah's for summer. A few of our friends joined us for movie night in the park (#2). Above is a pic of Evan and Karli shakin' their groove things:) It was so darn cute. They showed Kung Fu Panda. It was a nice time. The mosquitos tore us all up, but that just means that next year we need to remember bug spray.

A joyous reunion...

Before we went to Kenny Chesney we had the pleasure of meeting my MIL Deanna's father and two brothers. This was our families (Jason, Cara, Evan and Brayden) first time ever meeting them. We sat on the patio and had good conversation and then shared lunch. I think the day could not have been better. I look forward to the boys being able to share in there growing family!

Sun City Tour Aug. '09

Sat Aug 22nd a bunch of us all went downtown to see Kenny Chesney's Sun City Tour 2009. The line-up was Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, Sugarland, and Kenny Chesney. It is an all day country palooza. Jason and I rode down with Greg and Tracey (thanks for the ride). We were able to "tailgate" for about an hour before the show. It is wild if you have never been downtown for it. Maybe next yr we will get a hotel room....then we all can have as good a time as the boys did..... let's leave it at that. I am just glad we got out of the parking lot (wink, wink)!

Picnic Fest '09

We had a FABULOUS time having a large group of our friends come over on Sunday. Rain or no rain the kids played, the adults talked, and thanks to everyone we had some good eats:) Look closely at the group photo...check out Brayden and Cameron's expressions...... so 2 yr old boy "I'm a little s%^$" looks. LOVE IT! Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was just what the doctor ordered for me. It felt good to have my life feel back to "normal" for the day.

Pics from Up North

Better late than never! These are from our 4th of July trip Up North at the cottage (Mullett Lake Cheboygan, MI). We had great weather the last few days we were up there and lived it up! Hopefully we can get back up there this year....we shall see.

Squishy Belly....

Ok, I know I can go a long time without blogging, but over a month....geez....what is wrong with me? Anyway, my dad is recovering well from his bypass surgery. Thank you to all for your calls, e-mails, support, and PRAYERS!!! They paid off.

Funny story... Evan and I have been apart a lot lately (obvious reasons) and when I am home he is glued to me. We were snuggling the other night and he had his head on my belly. Before when he would do this he would always ask me when I was going to have another baby.....this time he just told me he loved my squishy belly! LOL! Good thing the boy is CUTE!

No pics.....noone needs to see this squishy belly:)

The Saga of BB Sleeping

It has been interesting around here at night time. Brayden was climbing out of the crib so we had to put the mattress on the floor...well, he does not like this. First he made a nest and slept in the middle of his floor, then we tried putting the boys mattresses together on the floor (this worked for one night), then he moved to throwing all his blankets over the baby gate and made a nest in the middle of the hallway on the floor. Thankfully he will now stay in his room, but he likes 100 things on the little crib mattress with him. This is how we found him the other night.....sleeping so hard! Thank goodness the book had built in air holes!!!!!

TLE Preschool Graduation

LOOK MOM I DID IT!
Evan graduated from preschool the beginning of June. He did really well at the graduation ceremony. He had not been to the actual school for a few days before yet he jumped right in and was one of the gang. He did not like all the clapping and hoopla from the parents however. Whenever there were applause, etc. he plugged his ears:) Too funny:)

Kayla Update...

Well, for those of you who do not facebook.... I am sad to say that Kayla's MCT cancer has reared it's ugly head again. I found two growths on her right front leg and took her to the vet to get them checked out. They did a fine needle aspiration and confirmed that they are MCT. Surgery/chemo/RT were all suggested, however we have decided to just go with what God has in store. It has been a little over a year since her origional tumor was discovered. Her attitude and behavior are normal so we will just hope for the best.

GO TEAM!

This is a group photo of all us TNT 1/2 Marathoners taken in the hotel lobby at 5:00 am ish. I am in the bottom row third from right...J is well, up stairs in our room in the shitter...he took so long we almost missed our bus.

Happy Birthday Meme!

June 5th was Meme's birthday! We celebrated on Sunday at our house after I got home from work. Unfortunately for her, that meant she had to cook her own birthday dinner. Sorry Meme, but thanks for the delicious dinner. I know Pop-pop's eyes look beat up in this photo, but he just had some surgery done on his eyelids....he was not beat up! PROMISE!

Tons of Trucks...

What a great day we all had! The boys LOVED all the chaos and trucks! Till next yr...

We made it!

Well, J and I ran our 1/2 marathon in Traverse City today and WE MADE IT!  J did awesome.  He ran it in about 2 hours and 10 minutes. I was about 35 minutes behind him at 2 hours and 45 minutes.  We have to look up the "official" times still, but those should be pretty close.  PICS to come.  We are still in Traverse City.  Off to Indian River tomorrow and back on Tuesday.  We are SORE but ALIVE and that is what matters.  What a FANTASTIC thing to be a part of.  THANK YOU to everyone who supported us and donated to such a FABULOUS cause.  We are BLESSED to be surrounded by such WONDERFUL family and friends!

The newest Body Paint...

RANCH SAUCE! OMG!

Mommy's Day

On Thurs the 7th Evan's Preschool put on a Mother's Day function. There was dinner, dessert, crafts and entertainment. Boy, was there entertainment. As you can see from the photos above....Evan hid his face during the mother's day songs. He did not want to participate at all! Poor baby! Then it was time to receive our homemade gifts. They paper mached a flower pot and planted us flowers (the pot is sitting on my window sill getting some sun as I type), hand flowers, and a mother's day poem with handprints and their pics. It was a wonderful night. My mom came over to watch BB so that I could have some one on one time with my big boy.
Evan and I made a small gift for all his teachers. We took pens and used floral tape to secure flowers on the tops of them. That is the basket of flowers you see in our hands. They turned out rather well and the teachers all seemed to really enjoy them.
On actual Mother's day we all went out for breakfast. Then cleaned out mommies car (that is a shole day in itself), then took naps (all of us:)), and headed out to the BARN! We all (except J...he is a chicken) rode and EVAN especially loved it (SO DID I). What a FANTASTIC day! Happy Mother's day to you all!!!!!

Caught Ya!

Well, I NEVER thought I would see the day when Queen Tata and Belle would snuggle. Unfortunately, I caught Belle up on my bed (which she is not allowed to be on), but none the same it was SWEET!

Brayden's 2nd Birthday Party

Well, my little B has brown-up. He turned 2 yrs old! Where does the time go. He had two birthday "parties." Meme, Pop-pop and Auntie Olga came over on Wed for dinner, cake and presents. A good time was had by all. Thanks Meme and Pop-pop for the delicious ribs and fixin's.
Sat. the Reinhart Clan went to Evan's T-ball game and then came back here for some Tastefully Simple goodies, dump truck cake, and presents. We celebrated Mother's Day also. It was a nice time. I wish the day would have been a little warmer though.
