Well, we got Kayla's results...she had a mast cell tumor....it's a kind of skin cancer that is histamine based. Complicated to explain.... more common in some breeds than others. I am not sure how to feel. Of course I am sad that my baby girl has cancer. I am torn regarding the info out there regarding treatment options and exactly how far we can/want to go. Since clean margins were impossible to obtain in the jaw and the vet said the tumor was in the muscle and not just the subq tissue like usual.....I am just torn. The onc. who read the path report said worst case scenario with no treatment......6 mo to a year. Other reports I have read say they can last many years...they recommend antihistamine treatment...blah, blah, blah. It's all quite complex. Don't be sad though because she is recooperating from her surgery well and back to her old self...she is stealing food from the boys and pushing me and J our of bed at night. Alls well at the Felosaks!

There are no words that can make you less torn but hopefully there is a bit of solace knowing that Kayla has a great home and family filled with love.
What a beautiful pup! Our dog had a lot of health problems so I know how you feel. She lived to 4 and then passed. We miss her. I hope Kayla lives with you forever, you seem like sweet people.
